Haiku is a timeless form of poetry that captures fleeting moments with precision and simplicity. Originating in Japan, haiku traditionally follows a 5-7-5 syllable structure and often reflects nature, the changing seasons, or human emotions with quiet depth. Though brief, these poems invite readers to pause, observe, and find meaning in the ordinary.
While classical haiku were deeply rooted in Zen aesthetics and nature, modern haiku embrace a wider range of themes and styles, sometimes bending traditional rules to fit contemporary expression. What remains unchanged is the essence of haiku: the ability to distill a moment into just a few words, leaving space for reflection.
In this post, I’m sharing a collection of my own haiku—I hope they offer a moment of stillness in your day.
A hidden fortress,
where secrets softly gather,
shadows in the light.
* * *
Fragments of the day,
crumbling like ancient ruins,
stories left untold.
* * *
The river of speech,
flowing through a narrow path,
currents of the heart.
* * *
Beneath the surface,
a world of hidden wonders,
glistening like dreams.

Wonderful ♥️
